Moriha, 2018
Just before her Bat Mitzvah, the moment in Jewish tradition when a girl becomes a woman at the age of twelve, I found Moria right at the threshold. This portrait captures that fragile in-between—the final breath before girlhood ends and adolescence begins. It's part of an ongoing exploration into femininity that arrived too soon, and the delicate timing of becoming, when the body begins to speak before we're ready to listen. The work examines that precise edge where childhood innocence meets the weight of expectation, where we're neither one thing nor the other, suspended in transition.
